Iran ICT minister requested his Afghan counterpart to transfer bandwidth transit from west to the east

Transferring bandwidth from west to the east is possible via optical fiber communication.

As P.R Dept. of Iran ICT Ministry reported, Dr. Reza Taghipour in a visit with his Afghan counterpart declared that we hope that the capacity of bandwidth transferring got increased through negotiations made between Iranian and Afghan experts. Now the optical fiber is transferred up to Herat and we hope we can reach it to Afghanistan with the efforts made, he added. Iran ICT minister with pointing the proposals presented in the 1st Ministerial Summit of ECO member countries, said that the cooperation for making the joint satellite by member countries is one the these proposals. Afghanistan ICT minister has posed the proposal for transferring communication and bandwidth via Turkmenistan which can be implemented before the completion of Kabul – Herat route and for this, a tripartite expert team was assigned to investigate on this matter. Also Iran ICT minster’s proposal on making joint satellite by ECO member countries was welcomed by Afghanistan ICT minister. According this report, Dr. Taghipour talked about the negotiations made between Iran and Afghanistan on communication via optical fiber and said: the agreements have been sealed since one year ago and we hope that making connection got possible in Pakistan too. Iran ICT minister also talked about Iran capacities in ICT zone – its software and hardware sections- and asserted that Iran is ready to transfer its ICT knowledge to Pakistan. Pakistan ICT ministry’s head has praised Iran creativity for holding this summit and expressed his readiness to start bilateral cooperation in ICT zone.
