ICT offices Serve 40,000 Iranian villages

Information Technology and Communications Ministry serve 40000 villages with postal, Post Bank and telecommunication services via ICT offices.

ICT Ministry Public Relations Department reported; Dr. Reza Taghipour with saying this matter in Universal Postal Congress which was held in Qatar, declared that ICT ministry has been tried its best to prepare the base for developing electronic government services in villages as government counters with the goal of Iranian easy access in all areas regardless their geographic position which cause reducing the frequent travel of villagers to the cities. Regarding this aim and considering Iran’s extent and also filling the gap between the societies rely on Information Technology and the other which not and developing social justice, ICT ministry investing more than $ 280,000,000 to facilitate 10 thousand villages, he added. Also creating and facilitating 6000 village office in non developed areas is in process, according to Iran 5th Development plan, Dr. Taghipour asserted. Dr. Taghipour mentioned that before this, villagers were travelling to the cities so much for using governmental services and there is no way except this. He continued: because of this, serving outlying villagers with this kind of services by banks and governmental organizations was not economical and accordingly ICT ministry put launching these offices in its high agendas. The minister of Information Technology and Communications emphasized that in addition to these various information and communication services, ICT offices present other organizations services such as Insurance companies, Civil Registration Organization, Police, Registration of Deeds and Properties Organization, Agricultural, Iran Transportations and Stations Organization, Ministry of Commerce, banks, Welfare Organization, Statistics Center and so many other services. Islamic Republic of Iran with considering its high value goals based on justice, serving people and efforts for development, has been trying its best to serve people with global and updated services, he said at the end.
