ICT Ministry Technology and International Affairs Deputy: Ratifying14  Iran proposals in Universal Postal Congress

In the Universal Postal Union Congress which was holding in Qatar, 14 proposals from the whole 17 which Iran presented to the congress on Postal International Rules and laws (Convention), have been ratified by the congress members.

Dr. Karampour, International Affairs and Technology Deputy of ICT Ministry in an interview with Public Relations Dept. with saying this news, declared that This achievement is gained with the efforts of Iran Post Company directors and experts such as Eng. Shomooli Zadeh, Post Company International Affairs General Director and as a result, Iran will shining more in this zone. He mentioned that ICT Ministry performs in International zones according to Iran macro policies and asserted that before this, some other big efforts have been made in international fields such as WRC and Regional Organization of Asia and Pacific Telecommunication Society. Iran is trying to find a way to increase its position of being a player to the directing level in ICT international and regional organizations. He also said that Iran hasn’t been a fan since the first, emphasized that we are trying to increase our position and being one of influential member according to our plans and efforts made in this field. International Affairs and Technology Deputy with pointing the holding of the 25th Universal Postal Congress said that this congress is held in Qatar and Iran is one of the most active members. He also talked about the importance of this congress and said that this international event is held every 4 years and all international postal policy making and rules setting are drafted and approved in this congress. Universal Postal Union (UPU) has been established in 1874 in Bern (Switzerland) and this union has 4 departments including The Council of Administration (CA), The Postal Operations Council (POC), The International Bureau (IB) and Advisory Committee (AC).
