PR of the Ministry of ICT- Hossein Malek, General Director of Economic Studies Office in ICT Ministry said:" Based on the statistics and information, Iran has gained the first grade among 14 regional countries and the second and third grades went to Pakistan and Turkish respectively".
"The number of Iran postal offices is 6.5 times of the region average and more than 5 times of the world average, so this shows the acceptable position of postal offices in comparison with other countries", he added.
He continued: "Iran Post Co. has provided a wide chain of services throughout the country by creating the postal offices in different parts".
Hossein Malek said that Post Co. has covered a proper population of the country for the large extent of Postal offices and continued:" Therefore, Iran has gained 28th grade in the world for having one postal office for more than fourteen thousand and two hundred persons".
" 121 countries of the world and 12 countries in Middle East has been studied in this evaluation, so Iran has gained the second grade in the region", he continued.
General Director of Economic studies office in ICT Ministry said:" 'traffic for any employee' is another indicator that has been considered by UPU".
"Iran Post Co. has gained the second grade among 11 regional countries and the next grades went to the countries such as Turkish, Qatar and Lebanon", he emphasized.
Hossein Malek said:" Therefore, 'per- capita traffic for any employee in Iran' is 1.5 times of the regional average and 1.3 times of the world average".
He pointed to Iran ideal position for postal traffic and said:" these studies are based on the statistics of 2009, for lack of the countries information in UPU data bank".
