Transition to IPV6 is compulsory for presence in the future market

Transition to the new generation of Internet Protocols for providing new extra value services especially by mobile phones is compulsory.

Public relation of ICT ministry – Eng. Ali Hakim Javadi, the minister deputy and the head of Information Technology organization with pointing to this, in the dedicated Seminar for Transition to IPV6 in Iran, said that: when the 4th version of Internet Protocol had been designed in 70s and 80s, it was presumed that 4,390 billion internet address is sufficient for users’ need, but increasing the number of users and also amount of information this new extra value services have provided in this arena, induce masters to accomplish the transition from IPV4 to IPV6 around the world.
He mentioned that in Iran like the other countries, this transition is taken to account by ICT ministry and declared: the ministry of Communication and Information Technology which has been assigned to find out and accomplish this transition, has observed the changes in ICT zone around the world and accordingly will do the relevant developments.
Providing the necessary circumstances for supplying the needs in this area and also considering the new extra value services are such matters which considered, the deputy of ICT minister continued.
He asserted: to perform this transition, last year an especial team has started his job for transition to the new generation of Internet protocol and also a guideline committee was established in ministry of ICT.
Ali Hakim Javadi remarked that: codifying the strategy and road map for this transition is in progress and said: in the guideline document, the present and future of Iran status in this section will be clarified.
Programming for complete transition to IPV6, respecting all aspects and using solutions compatible with available network, are some tasks considered in this arena, he said.
The head of IT Organization continued: one of the matters considered more in the transition process, is the principle of giving services with no interruption that must be obeyed by all operators and organizations.

He was mentioning the efforts made in this issue around the world and said: Japan, European countries, China, South Korea, Unites States of America, Pakistan, India and Malaysia are such countries pursuing the transition to IPV6.
