Iran is in the 90th place At the end of the first year of Iran’s 5th development plan in e-government indicator, but by the end of the fifth development plan, this will change to 35.

Public relation of ICT ministry reported; Dr. Reza Taghipour this morning in the 3rd meeting of information technology high-rank managers with subject of government dedicated network focusing on economy and e-commerce, said that: in today’s world the knowledge-based economy is not only an idea anymore, but so many countries such the eastern ones, have this.
He said: in recent decade we are watching other countries’ improvement in communication and IT zone investments which led to GDP development. He added that the major substructure for knowledge-based Economy relies on IT and communication in which providing band-width for users, plays an important role on this matter.
Taghipour with mentioning this matter that secure data network is essential for our country, asserted: designing national data network is our main job, because this network supplies 95% of what users need.
He continued: Internet parallel with national data network can supplies other requirements of users. He told us about the capacity of national data network and the available band-width for users and said: this network at first of the process, can supply band-width about 2 GB that will be 8GB in the next levels. He also talked about the services this dedicated government network provide for it’s own users.
He with emphasis on accomplishing mobile, internet and satellite converging principle added that providing security in the EGE layer, rules’ regulatory in cyber environment, moving toward smart environments by use of technology in order to make activities automated and also increasing the power of managers in IT zone, are our other programs.
He said about governments’ goals to create e-government in the country: at the end of 5th development plan, Iran is in 90th place and this place will become 35th at the end of the fifth plan. He also mentioned that at the end of the plan, 70% of government services will be electronic.
During this meeting, Eng. Ali Hakim Javadi, minister’s deputy and the CEO of Information Technology Organization stated that: nowadays, most of the countries have a special regard for Band-width expansion and our country are insisting on it too.
He with saying that the host for 96% of the governmental websites are inside the country, told: until now, we have ignored the NRI indicator, so by considering our plans and what we have done for creating and expanding e-commerce environments, law and policy making on Economy and E-commerce, this number will enhance.

It is necessary to mention that during this meeting, an agreement was signed between presidency, Commerce ministry and ICT ministry for transferring of data between government dedicated network and Shebab network.
