The ICT Ministry’s PR department reports that Mahmoud Vaezi, the Iranian Communication Minister, who is in Finland leading a delegation of public and private sector representatives, has met and held a discussion with Timo Sweeney, the Foreign Minister of Finland.
In this session, Vaezi referred to the new environment created in Iran’s relations with various countries, especially EU nations, and including Finland, stating that: “We are looking for new developments in the Post-Sanctions environment and the necessity of developing overall cooperation with countries with technologies in different sectors, including ICT.”
He added: “Finnish companies, considering their presence record and experience in Iran, can benefit from the outcomes of such a joint cooperation.”
The ICT Minister emphasized that: “Finnish corporations can increase their investments in Iran in consideration of numerous advantages of the Iranian Market, including the capacities of local markets, and the existence of young and skilled work-force in the ICT sector.”
Vaezi also announces in this meeting that: “One of the key models for the effective presence of companies from Finland, is the financial and banking support and the provision of financing sources along with these cooperation.”
He referred to trip of the President of Finland to Tehran, this October, emphasizing that: “Iran is fully prepared to develop its political, economic, and commercial cooperation with Finland, especially in regard to the field of communication and information technology.”
The Communication Minister continued by referring to Iran’s position as a stable country in the region, emphasizing that: “Iran has always wished for security and stability in the region, and will continue to do its best in this regard.”
Mr. Timo Sweeney also referred to the positive role of Iran in regional development, stating that: ‘The visit of our President can have a constructive impact on our bilateral relations, within the development framework of Iran and Finland’s commercial and economic cooperation.”
He also stated that: “The government of Finland will support the progress of cooperation in public and private sectors, and will not refrain from utilizing all the necessary mechanisms in this regard.”
