Vaezi Visits SK Telecom

The Minister of Communication has visited Telecom Corporation during his trip to South Korea, welcoming the presence of this firm in Iran.

 ICT Ministry PR reports that this morning, Dr. Mahmoud Vaezi, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology and his accompanying delegation, visited SK Telecom Corporation, the largest operator of that country, where its top officials presented their achievements and capacities to the Iranian delegation.

In this meeting, Dr. Vaezi described the policies of the I.R. of Iran regarding development of ICT sector and the funds allocated for investment in this field, welcoming Korean companies’ interest in investing in Iran.

He also expressed that: “These collaborations will be fruitful when in addition to foreign investment; local and domestic resources are also utilized.”

The ICT Minister stressed that: “Within this cooperation framework, the ICT Ministry announces its full support of the presence of interested companies who would like to participate in communication and information technology sector in Iran.”

It should be mentioned that the officials of this firm had accompanied the President of South Korea in his visit to Iran, expressing their interest in cooperating in banking relations, designing National Transportation Network Projects through IT technology, university level educational projects, and also other public service areas like e-governance and e-health.

According to this report, since SK Telecom Corporation enjoys a very high status and global rating in the ICT sector based on international criteria, it can offer extensive and constructive collaborations with our country in this field.

In this visit, it was also agreed that related public and private corporations, including Iranian mobile operators, will propose appropriate projects based on local demands and requirements.
