Vaezi Condemns Ataturk Airport Attack

Dr. Vaezi, Presidential special representative in Turkish affairs, and the Iranian co-Chairman of Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Commission, has condemned the terrorist attacks on Istanbul’s Ataturk airport, in a phone conversation with the Turkish Minister of Economy and the co-Chairman of the Joint Economic Commission, Nihat Zeybekci.

According to Public Relation department of the ICT Ministry, in this phone conversation, Dr. Vaezi offered his condolences to his Turkish counterpart, announcing the sorrow of Iranian people and government for this unfortunate incident, sympathizing with the Muslim and brother nation and government of Turkey, and the families of the victims of this terrible event.

The Iranian Communication Minister emphasized on the necessity of unity and collaboration between regional governments and countries in their fight against extremism and terrorism.

Dr. Vaezi, highlighted Iran and Turkey as two important and strategic countries in the region, and stated that the cooperation between these two countries in fighting terrorism will be a major step in accelerating this collaboration.

A suicide attack in Istanbul airport left 36 people dead and hundreds injured.
