The ICT’s Public Relation reports that Dr. Vaezi and Shahin Mustafayev visited the Northwestern city of Tabriz, in East-Azerbaijan Province of Iran.
In a meeting held at the Provincial Governor’s office in Tabriz, Dr. Vaezi expressed his pleasure at observing the spirit of closeness and cooperation in East-Azerbaijan Province, saying: “Each time I have visited Tabriz, I have also had negotiations regarding the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
Stating that at the beginning of these visits and trips there was no positive view of cooperation, and there was little disposition for collaboration, he included that: “Fortunately, during the last visit a new and positive view was established in the relations between Azerbaijan Republic and the city of Tabriz.”
Pointing out that the East-Azerbaijan Province is right next to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vaezi went on to say: “These bilateral cooperation between the East-Azerbaijan Province and the Azerbaijan Republic have a positive impact on the development of cooperation and the communication circumstances between our two countries.”
The Minister of Communication and Information Technology expressed that: “If we start implementing the agreements of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation of Iran and Azerbaijan from the city of Tabriz, we can undoubtedly make similar agreements in other provinces.”
Stating that Dr. Jabarzadeh, the Governor of Tabriz and the finalized agreements are fully backed and supported by the government, he added: “The cooperation conditions and the viewpoints of Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan are very positive in this regard, and I hope that the provincial officials will also have a positive outlook in finding solutions for existing minor issues.”
Vaezi asserted that: “We are confident that we will have more agreements in Tabriz compared to Tehran; and God-willing a new season will commence for the relations of this province with the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
At this meeting, Shahin Mustafayev, the Minister of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, underscored the historical and religious background of the two countries, expressing the wishes of his country for expanding bilateral relations between Iran and Azerbaijan.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Jabarzadeh, the Governor of Tabriz, also presented a report about the development of potentials and capabilities of the East-Azerbaijan Province.
