According to ICT’s PR department, Denis Manturov, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, in continuation of his visit to Iran accompanied by a 350-member delegation consisting of traders and industry-men, arrived to meet Mahmoud Vaezi, the Iranian ICT Minister; during these talks he expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Iranian government for expanding bilateral relations with Russia, explaining that: “In today’s meeting, we discussed several topics for cooperation and had extensive talks in various areas such as different industries and commercial relations between Iran and Russia.”
He also included that: “Considering the present outlook toward expansion of bilateral relations between two countries, the trade volume of goods and products is very low, and it has to increase to higher levels.”
Manturov added that: “At the moment, the level of investments should increase through the encouragement of both countries, and considering the presence of Russian companies in the Industrial Exhibition in Iran, an opportunity has risen for the markets of both countries to increase these investments by finding new trade partners.”
Manturov added: “The level of the relationship between the two countries allow both parties to increase and expand their cooperation, and this cooperation, in addition to trade, must also result in joint production.”
Mahmoud Vaezi, the Iranian Communication Minister, commented regarding Iran-Russia bilateral collaborations in continuation of this meeting, saying that: “During this meeting, the parties studied the economic and commercial cooperation development areas between the two countries, also discussing methods for expanding the existing cooperation.”
Vaezi asserted that: “Following the visit of Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation to Iran, a new chapter was opened in the relations of Iran and Russia, and we have been planning things based on this common chapter to contemplate expanding relations.”
He added: “The Russian Industrial Exhibition in Iran is currently underway, and this exhibition can help expand cooperation and develop industrial relations.”
The ICT Minister emphasized that: “The relations and collaborations of our two countries should not only be based on trade and commerce, but rather joint manufacturing and production, to be established based on the existing potentials of the two countries.”
Vaezi referred to developing cooperation with Russia in the current Iranian government, stating that: “In continuation of these meetings and visits, tomorrow we are hosting visits by the First Deputy of Russia’s Prime Minister and also the Secretary of Eurasia Russia to Iran, and in these meetings, similar to the previous ones, we are going to discuss and negotiate topics such as tariffs, joint monetary convention between two countries, easy money exchange between countries, and also the private sector and the various activities of that sector; and we are going to summarize and arrange finalized items to help increase bilateral relations, especially in economic sector.”
