According to Public Relation department of the ICT, Shahin Mustafayev, the Economy and Industry Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated during the 10th session of the Iran and Azerbaijan’s Joint Economic Cooperation Commission that: “The arrangement of the Azeri delegation clearly shows the existing importance and precision of the Iran-Azerbaijan relations.”
He stressed on the efforts of the leaders of both nations for expansion of relations, adding that: “We can state with certainty that the relationship between both nations have entered a new stage.”
The Azeri Minister expressed that: “From the date of the previous conference to present time, more than 46 official visits have taken place between the two countries.”
Referring to the 50 percent increase in the number of Iranians traveling to Azerbaijan, he added: “It is our wish to facilitate visa issuance for traders and merchants, especially in border entry points.”
He stated the objective of this commission as the development of economic relations in accordance with the political relations, saying: “We are going to cooperate in oil, gas, transportation, humanitarian issues, culture, tourism, and especially in the establishment of the North-South corridor.”
Shahin Mustafayev linked the establishment of North-South corridor to the support and backing of the governments, saying: “The realization of this issue can help the expansion of multi-lateral relations between Iran, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Georgia.”
He referred to the fact that 485 Iranians were studying in Baku’s universities during the past 2 years, adding that: “We have also exchanged agreements between the Health ministries of both countries.”
Azerbaijan’s Economy and Industry Minister asserted that: “In regard to banking cooperation, both countries are enjoying a good relationship and in this joint commission, Deputies of the Central Banks of Iran and Azerbaijan were also present.”
He emphasized on the cooperation of Iran and Azerbaijan in the Communication and Information Technology sector, including that: “The tripartite relations between Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia in various areas are of very high importance.”
Shahin Mustafayev highlighted the highly positive effect of the determination of the Presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan on the political and economic relations development, saying: “Azerbaijan’s President is pursuing the growth and expansion of Tehran-Baku relations.”
