According to PR department’s report, during this meeting, Dr. Vaezi referred to the existing good relationship between two countries, evaluating the development of banking cooperation as the groundwork leading to the growth of commercial relations between Iran and Russia, and requested the assistance of the Russian Central Bank for realization of these objectives.
The ICT Minister also referred to the revitalization of Agency Relations between two countries, especially in the post-sanctions era, highlighting topics such as establishment of the Iran-Russia Joint Bank, finding solutions for obstacles to efficient operation of Iranian and Russian banks, and implementing commercial transactions by their national currencies.
The President of Russia’s Central Bank also welcomed the development of Tehran-Moscow relations, expressing his preparedness for expanding cooperation.
He emphasized on the proposal for Iran’s membership in the Eurasia Development Bank, connecting e-pay systems between two countries, and the establishment of Agency Relations between Iranian and Russian banks, as the most major topics on the cooperation development agenda.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the ICT Minister invited Russia’s Central Bank President to visit I.R. Iran.
Further meetings on Dr. Vaezi’s agenda for this trip include the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Agriculture, and the Health Minister of Russia.
