On 12th of March, commemorating the 138th year since the establishment of Communication Ministry in Iran, The Minister for Communications and Information Technologies visited the East Azerbaijan province, and took part in the provincial chamber of commerce meeting, accompanied by the governor of East Azerbaijan.

According to the Ministry’s Information and Public Relations Department, at the start of the meeting Dr. Vaezi expressed pleasure at being present among members of the chamber of commerce, stating that “commercial activities should be based on scientific principles and modern devices”, adding that “we have to find foreign markets for Iranian products in the region and around the globe”.

 Pointing out various measures of the ICT Ministry in supporting merchants and their fairs and exhibitions abroad, he further elaborated saying that, “although the Ministry is supportive of holding commercial exhibitions and exporting products by our traders, it would yield better results if major exporters and merchants would consider helping small and newbie exporters through establishment of a special fund”.

Insisting that “we have to emerge in the international economy, therefore, the manner of our presence and the type of our marketable products are going to play a major role realizing the objective”, he added, “among other measures for cementing a presence in the global markets is branding and launching Holding companies in various fields and sectors”.

Dr. Vaezi stressed the necessity of learning teamwork in the arena of economy and commerce, saying that, “we have to approach global trading through teamwork and group effort”.

The ICT Minister informed the audience that, “the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively pursuing the realization and implementation of judicial and legal support for traders and exporters”.

Dr. Vaezi expressed optimism for increasing global interaction, stating that, “whenever we enjoy stronger economic and trade relations with other countries, it also undeniably helps the strengthening of our political relations”.

While pointing out certain problems and issues facing international transportation sector, he expressed that, “we endeavor to reduce transportation related issues and problems at the borders, and it is our wish that the current state of affairs does not result in increasing export expenses, so that we can enjoy a larger share of this important economic sector”, adding that, “through our follow up efforts of the recent months, the Iranian customs office at Bilesavar border is now operating 24/7”.

Listing some of the commercial and economic programs of the ICT Ministry, he said that, “transforming the city of Tabriz into a postal service hub is one of the priorities of the both the ICT Ministry and Iran Post Company”.

The Minister expressed his thanks to the governor of East Azerbaijan and all the members of the chamber of commerce, concluding that, “all are efforts are directed at elevating commerce and trade in particular, and the economy in general, to the point of growth and advancement”.
